Hoof problems are still too often underestimated. Signs go unnoticed, not out of unwillingness, but out of ignorance. At Mustad Academy, we believe that craftsmanship starts with insight. We help farriers to continuously grow in knowledge, skill, and awareness, because a well-informed farrier makes a difference in the performance, comfort, and well-being of the horse.
Mustad Academy is more than a series of separate clinics: it is a well-thought-out training program focused on sustainable development. No short intensive courses, but a training program built around continuity and depth. From October to March, we offer a monthly clinic day. Each clinic consists of a theoretical and practical part, combined with a joint dinner. This creates space for content, reflection, and connection.
The training consists of:
- 4 modules
- Each module includes 3 clinic days
- Small groups of up to 10 participants
- Interactive sessions, with room for questions and in-depth discussion
- Certificate of participation per module
We deliberately choose to keep things small-scale, so that every participant receives personal advice and can actively participate. It’s not a one-way street; we learn from each other and with each other.
Practical knowledge, backed by experience
The Mustad Academy is an initiative of Podi Artist, which has built up a wealth of knowledge and experience in hoof care and health over the past 30 years. We now share that knowledge in a professional, practice-oriented program based on biomechanical principles for farriers who continue to invest in their development.
